Water is a vital resource for any society. In a context where environmental pollution is increasing and threatening its quality, it is nevertheless a limited good. A good example of this is the recent headline-grabbing pollution of chlorothalonil (a fungicide used in agriculture) and its metabolites (derived from its degradation in the environment):

The PERTE initiative aims to advance the digitalisation of water cycle management and position Spain as a leader in the sustainable management of this resource. In this context, 50 projects have been selected for a total budget of €300 million, with the possibility of extending it to €400 million:
