Smart Water business intelligence week 16/08/2021
Market
Europe is a very heterogeneous continent in many ways, and water is no exception. Customs, legislation, economy or population density are some of the factors that affect the water cycle in different countries, and which, for example, cause a Swiss to consume 263% more water than a Slovak or that a Dane pays 8700% more for water than a Bulgarian. These data, provided by the European association of urban managers of the water cycle EurEau, which brings together 29 European countries, allow us to have a global vision and to compare the different countries:

Regulation
More precise. More alarming. More reliable. More educational. The IPCC group-1 has just published its report as part of the preparation of the 6th report of this Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The first was published in 1990. It served as the scientific basis for the development of the UN Climate Convention, signed in Rio de Janeiro in 1992:

The Adour-Garonne basin and more broadly the territories of the New Aquitaine and Occitanie Regions, are faced with significant quantitative and qualitative challenges in terms of water resources. From a quantitative point of view, the current deficit between needs and resources is thus estimated at 200 to 250 million m3 for the entire Adour-Garonne basin. The reuse of unconventional water (treated wastewater, rainwater, gray water, mine water, etc.) is one of the solutions, which, if it does not replace water saving measures, makes it possible to respond partly to water shortages and to fight locally against the effects of climate change in a Circular Water Economy approach:
