The Water Technology Trends 2025 – Revolutionizing Water Management through Digital Transformation report, recently published by Xylem Vue, identifies the emerging trends that will revolutionize the sector:
The top eight technological trends set to shape water management in 2025
Technology
In regions where it hardly ever rains, water is precious and access to it is uneven. Such is the case at Alto Hospicio in Chile, located in the hyper-arid Atacama Desert. Researchers have now tested whether producing water from fog could be a solution to the city’s water supply problem. Using fog harvesters, they found that it was possible to collect up to 10 liters per square meter every day, enough to supplement the water needed for drinking, irrigation and agriculture:

Regulation
Regulations on perennial pollutants (PFAS) are moving forward in Switzerland. A report from the Federal Council, expected by the end of the year, could recommend an action plan. The Confederation is also working on limit values for soil pollution:

Financing
